I’ve walked the path of recovery and have emerged stronger, healthier, and more determined to help others. My journey began on 7/14/2013, when I hit rock bottom, nearly facing death. Walking into rehab, I blew a .377, and it took me three days to blow zero. That was the beginning of my sober journey, and I’ve been sober ever since—almost 11 years of relapse-free sobriety.
Straight out of rehab, I pursued my undergrad in Public Health with a focus on community health education. My thirst for knowledge and passion for helping others led me to earn a master’s degree in addiction studies with co-occurring disorders. I initially worked in an all-women's rehab for a year before having my third child. However, my true calling was in sober coaching. I wanted to work with people who genuinely wanted help, not just those sent to rehab by the state or their parents.
Through coaching, I don’t hold borders on state licensing, allowing me to connect with and help individuals who align with my approach. I have a no-bullshit approach to keeping you accountable. If you’ve been sober for several years, you’re not above accountability. I almost relapsed at 3 and 6 years sober, and I understand the challenges that come with long-term sobriety. Coaching allows me to help motivate you and ensure we’re moving in the proper direction towards healing.
There’s so much healing we can’t do when we first get sober because we’re just trying to survive. But in our sobriety, we reach a point where we want to start thriving—and that’s where I step in. I aim to motivate and work with you on a deeper level, incorporating our bodies in healing our trauma, anxiety, and mental health.
When I walked out of rehab, I had four prescriptions, and I am grateful for their place in my journey. However, after nine years, I was still feeling anxiety and depression and was tired of playing the medication management game. After further certifications in gut-brain-axis communication, I learned that 90% of serotonin and 70% of dopamine are in the gut. I was baffled because I had been treating my mental health through a brain perspective. If desired, I help you align your body and start getting that serotonin and dopamine communicating again. You can do this alongside meds, as you taper off with your doctor, or as an option in place of meds. I was able to become med-free after 18 years on medication.
Join me in discovering the profound connection between gut health and mental wellness. Together, we can navigate the path to a healthier, more fulfilling life after addiction. You deserve the best, and I’m here to help you achieve it. Are you ready to take that step?
I’m using the mental wellness products from Amare. They are all for healing the microbiome and connecting the gut brain heart axis. I’ve been studying for years about the connection and was never ready to pull the trigger. Even through my master's program it was mentioned.. it can be such a big topic. So I was intrigued when I found Amare, and how they made the explanation and process for my mental health EASY. Of course ingredients are a big thing for me. So when I went through them I was happy to see they were all ingredients I would use: All clean, above organic standards and plant based I was on bored!
